A Visit from the Tooth Fairy

A couple of weeks ago Kayla said she had something stuck behind her tooth. So I took a look and lo and behold it is her permanent tooth coming in. We told her she needed to keep wiggling the baby tooth so it could come out. After over a week of her wiggling and Matt using every trick in the book, the tooth wouldn't budge. So I took her to the dentist to get the baby tooth pulled. After the dentist pulled the tooth, he said there was no way that tooth was coming out anytime soon. The root was still pretty established on the tooth. Kayla was so excited for the tooth fairy to come. And come she did. She got $2 for her very first visit and she also got a bonus $1 from Grandpa Ricks. She was thrilled.
(This isn't a very good picture, but I forgot to take another one after the numbness wore done.)

Paige's Room Re-do

It has been a long time coming, but Paige finally got her room redone. The walls had texture on them from the 1970's, really thick and brutal if you even bump into it. So Matt decided the best way to tackle this project was to complete rip the sheet rock out and put all new in. It took several weeks, but she is finally moved back in and loving it. We still are working on wall decorations and the trim work, but at least it is functional.
Life is just flying by lately. There is not enough time to get all the things done that I want to do. I have been doing some serious organizing and cleaning out. I have been in the mood, so I thought I better take advantage of it. The boys are crazy and keeping each other entertained. I think that is one of the best parts of having multiples. They always have someone to play with. For me that is nice, because I am actually finding time to get some projects done. The list goes on and on, but I am working at checking items off.

Valentine's Day

I think I had the best Valentine's Day ever. Actually for Christmas this year Matt gave me tickets to the Lady Antebellum concert, which happened to be on Valentine's Day. I was so excited and I was anxiously awaiting the day to come. Tuesday was the big day. We left the girls here with my mom, so they wouldn't miss their parties at school and then we loaded up the boys to leave at Matt's mom and dad's house. We went to dinner before and then the concert. The preshow was also really good. We got to hear Thompson Square and Darius Rucker. By far my favorite was Lady A. They were awesome and I loved every minute of it. Thanks to my sweet husband this was a Valentine's Day I won't forget. (Let's hope he does as good next year.) Love ya Matt!!!!

Surprise Party

This last weekend my dad turned 60. We tried to decide what we wanted to do for his big birthday and we decided to do a little bit of surprising. The plan was for him and my mom to meet me,and the kids at the bowling alley for a game of bowling and then dinner. Little did he know, that my sister and her family from Utah would be there waiting as well. He met us and we were in line waiting to pay for bowling and my sister snuck up behind him and asked if they could join us. The look on his face was priceless. I didn't know if we would be able to pull the surprise off or not. It is near impossible to surprise that man. But we were successful and so was the party. After bowling and dinner we went back to my house for presents and cake. We had made him a movie of a bunch of pictures from when he was little and then we also made him a scrapbook with the pictures. He loved it and was very surprised. We had a fun party and are very thankful for such a wonderful dad and grandpa.

Winter Fun

This past weekend we were able to go down to Utah to Matt's brothers cabin, just above Park City. We had fun playing games, watching movies, sledding and we were even able to do a little snowmobiling. It was nice and relaxing and we had a great time. It was the first time the kids had played in the snow this winter, because we have hardly gotten any. The boys thought sledding was a lot of fun and the girls loved the snowmobiling. We had a really fun weekend. Thanks Pat and Jen.

Changes

There have been a lot of changes around here lately. The biggest one was that Paige got her braces off on Monday. She was so excited. She did so well with them. Now she just has to wear a retainer every night. She is still trying to get used to that. Before:
After:
This weekend Matt started a new project. Paige's bedroom had massive amounts of texture all over the walls, so we decided it was time to get rid of it. The easiest way we decided was to just rip all of the sheet rock out and start over. So he got to be very destructive and he got it all ripped out. He is ready to start putting new sheet rock up and Paige can hardly wait to get back into her room. Life is finally slowing down a little and we are getting back to our normal routine. I like that so much better than the crazy, hectic days. The boys are staying super busy and are really fun to watch. They play so cute together and they are starting to do make believe play. I love to just sit in the other room and listen to them talking and playing with each other. They are such a joy and I wouldn't change anything. They are definitley my pride and joy.

Christmas Wrapup

Our Christmas was great this year. We spent Christmas Eve with my family. We had a nice breakfast and opened presents at my parents house. It was a nice start to Christmas Eve. The kids also got to open a gift on Christmas Eve and they got some cute p.j.'s. Then it was off to bed to anxiously await Santa's arrival.
The kids found success under the tree Christmas morning. We got up about 7 a.m. Christmas morning and opened our presents and had a yummy breakfast. Then we got ready for church and enjoyed a nice Christmas program at church. The kids enjoyed the afternoon playing with their toys and then we were able to go to Grandma and Grandpa's house for dinner. They all got what they asked for and have enjoyed spending the past week playing with their new loot.
Paige got a Lego Medeival Village, some clothes, and a beanbag.
Kayla got Barbie Princess Charm school barbies and house set, clothes and a bean bag.
Aiden got a Toy Story 3 Imaginext toy, geotrax train set and a dvd. Brock got a Cars Shake n' Go ramp, geotrax train and a Baby Einstein DVD. Collin got a Cars 2 Ramp, geotrax train and his favorite gift was Cars 2 cars, Francessco and Nigel. (I left photo taking to Matt and I realized he didn't really get any good pictures of the boys with their toys. I am going to have to help him out with his picture taking skills.)
I was excited for one of the gifts Matt gave me for Christmas. He surprised me with tickets to Lady Antebellum on Valentine's Day. I am really excited for that. Matt got some new fishing waders from the kids, so hopefully when he goes fishing this summer he won't get wet feet anymore.
We had a very nice Christmas and it has been fun having the kids home but I am so ready to send them back to school tomorrow. The good thing is they are also ready to go back.
