Still Here

Well, things are still going good. I am still here with three babies inside. I have had just a few contractions here and there, but nothing to worry about. I am still in the same room and I am really starting to get bored. You can only watch TV and read books for so long. I keep telling myself that time will go fast, but that doesn't seem to be happening. The most uncomfortable part is sitting all day. My butt hurts really bad and no matter how I adjust, it still hurts.

Matt has been hanging out here most of his time. The girls are going to be here on Wednesday. I can hardly wait to see them. They went home to Rexburg last Monday and I have missed them so much. I think that will be the highlight of the week for me. It gives me something to look forward to (if that is at all possible).

Well, not to much has changed, but I will continue to keep you all updated. Thanks so much for all of your wonderful comments. They help keep me going.

My New Home

Hello everyone. It is me. Thanks to Liz for updating last. As she reported, they admitted me yesterday. I was having some pretty serious contractions and I sent everyone here at the hospital into a frenzy. They were getting nervous that I would deliver yesterday and they didn't want that (neither did I). Their NICU is full and they don't have any room for my 3 boys. They said if I kept having contractions, and things progressed further, they would have to transfer me to McKay Dee Hospital in Ogden to deliver so I could be by the babies. Luckily that didn't happen.

Last night around 10:30 pm, after all the meds they started to give me started working, my contractions stopped. I was so relieved. So around 3 a.m. this morning they transfered me out of Labor and Delivery and put me in a regular room for the next several weeks. We were shooting for 32 weeks, but the new goal is 30 weeks. That is only 3 weeks. If I can at least make it that far we will be doing a lot better. If I can make 30 weeks, then we will aim for 32 weeks. I keep telling myself that the longer they are in me, the shorter the time they will spend in the NICU. It is just going to be a long several weeks.

At least I can get internet access. Matt has a work laptop that he is working remotely on for work and so when he isn't working I can get on and update. Yeah. Maybe that will help pass the time. Right now, my girls are still in Rexburg at my moms. She is being a most wonderful grandma and I will never be able to thank her enough for all that she is doing for us right now. She is an angel and I love her and my dad so much for all of their help. It is really hard being away from the girls, but right now it is the best place for them. I hate to keep juggling them around from place to place here in Utah. So we will hang in there for as long as we can.

Update #2

This is Liz again, updating for Brook and babies. She went in for her appointment today and was dialated to a 1, so they wouldn't let her leave the hospital again. She is now there until the babies are born. They are hoping to hold the babies off for a couple of more weeks. She is hooked up to a monitor for her contractions and is on 2 different IV medications to stop contractions. The babies are doing just fine and there is also a monitor on each of them. She is all wired up. I will continue to update probably until the babies are born. Right now she is still stuck in a room with no windows or internet access. She is at the University of Utah hospital on the Labor and Delivery floor right now, hopefully they will move her to a regular room in a day or so. Once again you can email me for any further updates than what I post here. There is not a lot of information to give right now, but I will update all that I can. Send all your positive thoughts out for Brook and the Triplets! We love them!

As a little side note for everyone, Matt has been being a very impressive Mr. Mom. He has been holding down the fort at home and has been taking very good care of the girls. Way to go Matt!!

I am Alive.

Hello everyone. First off thank you Liz for posting an update. Here is the story of my last week and a half of life. Liz filled you in up to Friday, so I will go from there. The contractions finally stopped late Friday. They had me going on two different medications to stop those. Then they monitored me all weekend and things were going good. Monday morning they did an ultrasound and and NST (Non-stress test) and things were looking pretty good. I am still dialated to a 1, so my doctor released me to go to Bountiful, but I am on strict bed rest. That means I can get up to go to the bathroom, eat my meals and to shower. Other than that I am confined to bed. Let me tell, after only one week I am completely sick of bed rest. I am reading lots of books, crocheting around baby blankets and watching a lot of TV. I have to make it another 4-5 weeks at least, but more would be better. It is sure going to be a long summer. Matt and the girls are here in Bountiful on the weekends and they have been going back to Rexburg during the week. Matt still has to keep his job and he is trying to save up his sick and vacation days. Matt's mom and dad are so wonderful to take care of me and help us out. I am so lucky to have such a wonderful family. I will try to post as often as I can, but my laptops internet isn't working correctly. Matt needs to fix that slight problem for me. So long for now.

Update

This is Liz updating for Brook. They won't let her leave the hospital and she is stuck in a room that doesn't have internet access. So here is Baby Update #1--when Brook went in for her appointment yesterday she was having mild contractions, which of course isn't what they want to happen right now. So they put her in a room and started monitoring her. They have given her the medication to stop the contraction and they have slowed down, but not stopped all the way yet. They are giving her another dose today that will last 48 hours and then reevaluate on Monday to see if she has to stay in the hospital or can go to Matt's mom and dad's house. They are also giving her steroids for the babies. They did an ultrasound this morning and all of the babies are doing just fine. She is doing as good as you can do when you are stuck in a hospital room all day that doesn't have any windows. Their cell phones don't work inside the hospital and they have not admitted her into a room yet, so she is really hard to get in touch with. I will keep the blog updated until she can do it herself. But she might be stuck in the hospital for the duration. If any one wants to email me my email address is ecellan@hotmail.com and I can see what info I can give you. I am planning on going to the hospital tomorrow to see her. And she is hoping to be able to get internet soon so that she can logon and see all of the comments. Crunch Time!!

It has been an incredible busy week. I have been trying to get everything all done around the house and in the babies room. I leave for Utah tomorrow, Wednesday, and from the way the doctor talked last week at my appointment, she may not let me come home. So I have been on a whirlwind this last week. Besides getting all that done, Paige has had swimming lessons everyday, the kids got haircuts and just a bunch of other little odds and ends that I needed to get wrapped up. (Things that Matt would never think of) I will be pleasantly surprised if I make it back to Rexburg after Thursday's appointment, but we will just have to wait and see. So the next post I make will probably be from my temporary summer location, Bountiful, Utah.

The kids had fun getting their hair cut. This was Kayla's first haircut ever and she sat so incredibly still. I could hardly believe it.

Here is me and my lovely belly at 24 weeks. I can hardly wait to get out of this very uncomfortable stage in my life.

Big Weekend for Paige

Friday was a big day for Paige. She lost her 1st tooth. She was so excited. She had been having Matt try the pliers on it for a few nights, and it finally was loose enough that her Grandma Sue wiggled it on Friday and it just happened to come out. She was so excited.




Saturday Paige turned 6. We had a fun day together as a family. She helped me plant a few plants out front and then she helped Matt plant the garden. That night we went to Craigo's Pizza for dinner and then had cake, ice cream and presents.




Sunday we drove to Kemmerer, WY, for our nephew's baptism. It was a nice day and we got to see all of Matt's family. We drove on to Bountiful that night and then Monday morning I had another doctor's appointment. They measured the fluid levels and they all looked good. The babies heartbeats were between 136 and 138. They were also all head down, so I have three pairs of feet right in my ribs. I have my next appointment on Thursday the 12th and they will do a growth ultrasound and measure all the babies and check their weights. The doctor told me to also bring my bag with me just in case I won't be able to go back home. I don't know if I am ready for that, but I guess we will just have to wait and see.
