Road Rash

Obviously these pictures are from about a week and a half ago. The weather has been awful for the last week and we haven't been able to get outside and play. Aiden took a header in the driveway and got road rash all over his face. The poor kid. I just thought these pictures were too darn cute to not post. Enjoy.

10 Years

Today is our 10 year Anniversary. I can hardly believe that we got married that long ago. Just like today, it was very windy on the day we got married. We have had 10 good years and I can only hope that the next 10 are just as great. Thanks Matt for being a wonderful husband and father and being such a wonderful best friend. I couldn't ask for anything better. XOXOXOXOXO

Rescued by the Weather

Can I just say how much I love Spring. I thought the weather would never get nice. We have been going stir crazy indoors, and we are finally able to go outside and play. The boys absolutely love being outside. They would stay outside all day if I would let them. Their favorite is blowing bubbles and riding their bikes. Today Aiden was running in the driveway and he bit the dust. He has some serious road rash on his forehead and on his nose. I felt so bad for the little guy.

Collin was licking his bowl clean the other night after dinner. I thought it was pretty funny. I am pretty sure he learned that from his dad.

It has been a busy couple of weeks. We have been spending all of our time outside. Finally, on Saturday, after bribing her, Paige and I went out and worked on riding her bike without training wheels. After about 25 minutes of listening to her cry and whine and saying she couldn't do it, she finally did it. She still can't start to well on her own, but she will figure it out. I am just so glad she can finally ride a bike. Now we will be able to go on family bike rides. We have two bike trailers, so Matt and I will both be able to pull two kids and Paige can ride. It will be a fun summer activity.

Kayla has had a few issues lately. She has been constantly wanting to watch t.v., so we came up with some new rules. It actually is a point system. The girls have to earn point by doing jobs and anything I have them do, and then they have to have so many points to get rewards. So, in order to watch a movie, they have to have 10 points. I also bought a bunch of stuff at the dollar store and put it in a basket. So if they want to use their points for a prize, they can. So it seems to be working so far and they are really enjoying earning points. I am really liking it, because they are really wanting to do jobs.

Last week I also took Kayla in and registered her for Kindergarten. I am so excited for her to start in August. She is really excited to. She keeps asking me when she gets to go, and she can hardly wait. That will be a big adjustment when school starts, but it is going to be nice.

Life is staying busy, but I am just glad that we are getting a change of pace. Hopefully we will be able to start going on some really fun outings soon.

Busy Couple of Weeks

My time flies. I can't believe it has been two weeks since my last post. Two weeks ago, Matt went to Boise from Tuesday through Friday for meetings with work. I hate when he is gone that long. To top that off, Aiden had come down with a high fever Sunday and on Tuesday I took him to the doctor. It was a viral thing and it had to run its course, but he finally got over it. Then on Friday, Grandma Nielson came to stay. Grandpa Nielson met and went with Matt steelhead fishing in Challis. I was so glad I finally had some adult company. Matt and his Dad got home really late on Saturday night and Matt brought home two really nice fish. He had a fun time, but I was sure glad to have him come home.

Paige had Spring Break this last week. She got Thursday, Friday and Monday off. On Friday we headed to Utah for the weekend. We took the kids to the Living Planet Aquarium in Sandy. It was a lot of fun. They had a new penguin exhibit that we got to see and that was the highlight.

Friday night Grandma and Grandpa watched the kids and Matt and I were able to go play games with Matt's brother and his wife. It was a lot of fun. Then around 3:00 a.m. we were awakened by three crying boys. Matt went in to check on the boys and came back with Collin who had thrown up. That started off with a night full of excitement for us. Poor Collin was so sick.

Saturday morning we had planned to take all the kids to the easter egg hunt. Since Collin was sick, Matt went by himself with Paige, Kayla, Aiden and Brock and he also took our nephew Jacob who had spent the night at Grandma and Grandpa's. The kids had a fun time and got quite a few eggs.

Saturday night while Matt and his dad were at the Priesthood Session the girls and I colored Easter Eggs. It was fun. Collin finally ate dinner and the was the first thing he had eaten all day. I was relieved when he finally ate.

Sunday morning we woke up and discovered the Easter Bunny had found us in Utah. The kids were so excited and got some fun things. Then some of Matt's brothers and sister and the their families came for Eater dinner and the kids had an Easter Treasure Hunt. Then we hit the road and headed home.

Then in the middle of the night Sunday, I was awakened with another sick child. Brock decided to have the flu. So with another sick boy in the middle of the night I thought it would be nice to sleep in. Much to my surprise, Paige woke up and started with the flu. When I went in to check on Kayla I noticed she had thrown up in her sleep. Sorry for all of the fun pictures I am painting for you. Then to top it off, I was feeling horrible myself. I was hoping Matt could have stayed home to help me with all the sick kids, but he had school, so I was on my own. We survived and I think we are all of the mend. We are definately feeling better today.

It has been two weeks jam packed with fun and excitement, but I am hoping the next few weeks are a little calmer.

Easter Pictures

A couple of weeks ago, I braved the photo studio with my 5 darlings. I took my mom along to help me with the craziness of getting pictures. Matt doesn't really like to go, so my mom was more than happy to tag along.

I am so happy at how all of the pictures turned out. When I got their Easter outfits, I just knew I wanted to take them and get some new pictures. They are so dang cute and I love how they all coordinate and match. I always go to JC Penney's. They are so good to work with and the pictures always turn out so well. Anyways, here are some of the pictures. There are also updated pictures of each of the kids along the sidebar.

Girls Weekend

What a fun weekend I had. On Friday, I was able to drive down to Perry, UT with three of my high school friends and we met up with 4 others at our friend Emily's house. We had the best time. We ate, talked and laughed until we cried, stayed up way to late and shopped. All in all it was the funnest thing I have done in a long time. After 14 years, we kind of picked up where we left off. We got caught up on everything and shared a bunch of old memories too. I was so lucky to have such wonderful friends all through high school and even into college. We were missing some of our group of friends, and hope that over the years, since we are going to continue to get together, they can all join us. Thanks Emily for hosting and thanks to you all for such a fun and memorable weekend. You are all wonderful friends.

Thanks to Matt, he was able to spend the weekend with the kiddos. They had a wonderful time and didn't seem to miss me too much. I realized I shouldn't have stayed up so late though, because I was too exhausted to do anything with them when I got home.

If Only Daddy Knew

Oh, the things the boys do while Matt is at work. They love to play with the girls Polly Pockets and even barbies once in awhile. They are also loving dolls and pushing them around in strollers or buggies. They love to follow Paige and Kayla around with a doll. It is so funny. Matt doesn't like when they play with the girls things, but I think it is so cute and funny.

Aiden pushing his dolly.

Brock, screaming because he is so excited.

Brock and Collin having a pushing match around the table.

They are also way into cartoons and movies. Aiden especially loves to watch t.v. His attention span for t.v. is much longer than Brock and Collin, but they all enjoy it.

I am just so amazed at how much they change each day. They are discovering so many new things and love to follow the girls around and do what they are doing. We changed the girls bedroom around the other day and Aiden and Brock found their Leapsters. Those are items we usually have hidden, because the boys love to get them. Well they were found and when I went upstairs this is what I found. Luckily I was able to run and get the camera before they moved.

I am so glad that they have each other to play with and keep each other entertained. It has been nice the last couple of weeks, because I have actually been able to get some good scrapbooking time in. My goal for this year is to get everybody's scrapbooks up to date. We will hopefully make this goal and then I can hopefully just stay caught up. For any of you who don't digital scrapbook, can I just say that is something you should learn how to do. It is so fun and so addicting. It also is cheaper and takes up so much less space.

We are looking forward to a fun weekend. My sister and her girls are coming up to see all of us and hang out and play. Paige also has a half day of school today and no school on Monday because of a new trimester. It should be lots of fun.
