Back on Schedule

It has been so nice having the girls back in school and getting back on a schedule. I function better with schedule and I enjoy being back on it. The girls are loving school and their teachers. Kayla adjusted really well to going to school all day. I am enjoying my time in the afternoon after I put the boys down for their nap and before the girls get home from school. I feel like I get a lot more accomplished.

The boys are missing the girls while they are at school. They always want to go somewhere and when I take them, they aren't good kids at all. I am really struggling lately dealing with three three-year-olds. We are in the terrible three stage times three and there are days I want to pull my hair out. I keep telling myself that they are just kids and don't know any better, but I am beginning to wonder if I am going to survive.

The girls dressed Brock up the other day in a dress and cute little headband and even the shoes. He thought it was pretty funny, but his dad sure didn't think so.

Today has been really nice having Matt and the girls home. We went on a bike ride to the park this morning and the kids were able to play on the toys. Then we had a picnic lunch and rode the carousel for the last time this year. It was a fun morning. Matt and the girls are off to the pool this afternoon for one last swim before the season ends. It is hard to believe that September is already here. Fall is just around the corner. I don't know if I am ready to be cooped up for the winter yet. We better enjoy as much time outdoors as possible.

1st Day of School

Today was the first day of school for the girls. They have been so excited and anxiously waiting for this day to arrive for a couple of weeks.

Kayla is a big 1st grader this year. I am excited for her to go all day. She was as well. She could hardly wait to eat lunch at school.

Paige is in 4th grade this year. She has been excited for school to start all summer long. She loves school, and I hope she continues to enjoy it this year.

We got them up, ready and ate breakfast and then I walked with them to school this morning. They were excited and anxious to start the day. They will be home in about half and hour and I am anxious to see how their days went.

The boys were a little out of sorts today. They kept asking where Paige and Kayla were. It is going to be a big adjustment for them. They have enjoyed having their sisters to play with all summer. Now that the girls have started school, I get to tackle a big project that I have been dreading for awhile now. POTTY TRAINING!!! It is going to be challenging to say the least, but it is something we have to do. We went and bought them some underwear yesterday and they think it is so cool. They like to wear it over their diapers around the house. They also like to wear it on their heads (Thanks Matt.) I am keeping my fingers crossed that it goes smoothly. If you have any advice, let me know.

Kayla's 6th Birthday

Yesterday Kayla celebrated her 6th birthday. I can't believe she is that old. I remember the day I had her. She is such a stinker sometimes, but we sure love having her in our family. She brings nonstop excitement and drama. We sure do love her and had fun celebrating with her.

On Friday she had a friend birthday party. The theme was Tangled and she had a fun time. We did some fun games and activities, had sugar cookies on a stick (she informed me she didn't want cake this year) and she got some fun presents.

Yesterday we had my mom and dad over for birthday dinner and presents. She got the Tangled polly pocket castle, a cd player, a BFC doll, a pillow pet and some clothes. She has played all day with her fun gifts.

Now we only have a week and a half of summer left and school starts. I don't know who is more excited, me or the girls.

Camping and Catching Up

Over the 24th of July weekend Matt and the girls headed back down to Utah to go camping with some of his family. They went up to Ferron Reservoir. This was one of his favorite spots that he went to often as a kid. The girls absolutely loved it. They got to fish, go on hikes, ride the 4 wheeler, play with cousins, have smores and spend some precious one on one time with their Dad. (Just as a side note: Me and the boys were also invited, but I opted out. Camping in a tent for 3 days with triplets while Matt goes fishing, hiking, etc., didn't sound overly fun. We will go next year for sure.)

Matt and my nephew Kobi jumped in the Reservoir after fishing to cool off.

While they were camping, the boys and I hung out at home. We went to the 24th of July Parade in St. Anthony and the car show. We had fun, but the boys sure missed their dad and sisters.

We headed down to Utah on Monday night to spend a few days in Utah together. I was able to go to Park City and do some school shopping for the girls. The girls had a lot of sleep overs and had a girl party with some of the girl cousins and Grandma.

Matt was able to get together with some of his roommates and friends from college. They went water skiing in Park City area and then the wives and families all met up with them at Matt's brothers cabin. We got to spend the afternoon up there, had dinner with everyone, and even got to see a moose at the pond right by the cabin.

It was a fun, long, and adventurous week and we were so glad to get home and get back on a schedule. The summer is winding down and it is hard to believe that the girls go back to school in 2 1/2 weeks. Where did the summer go?

Family Reunion in Ferron

We had a fun filled time last weekend. On Friday we drove down to Ferron, Utah, for a family reunion with Matt's mom's extended family. It was a long ways to drive, but it was worth it. Ferron is one of Matt's favorite places to go. He went there alot growing up and he has alot of fun memories.

Saturday the kids all got to ride on a horse. I didn't know if we were going to get everybody on a horse or not, but they all decided to give it a go. Paige loved it the most.

Then the most fun thing of the whole reunion happened. We drove over to the church in Ferron and there was the biggest slip and slide I have ever seen. They had bought four old billboard posters and put them all down. Then the hooked up a couple of sprinklers and the fun began. We all loved it and had so much fun. Each of the boys went down as well (against their wishes).

This is a video of Matt and the girls on the huge water slide. They loved it.

Then there was good food, lots of visiting and lots of playing with cousins. We had a really fun time.

The Triplets Turn 3

Today was the big day. Three years ago today, three of the biggest miracles in my life occurred. I have been privileged to spend the last three years nurturing and raising the three cutest, most amazing little boys in all the world. I don't know how I got so lucky to receive such special blessings, but I will never forget the way these three little guys have changed my life and our family.

Today was pretty much just a normal day until after Matt got home from work. For dinner tonight we went to the boys favorite place, McDonald's. They ate and got to play on the toys. They had a fun time. Then we came home and my parents came over and we opened presents and had cake and ice cream.

Collin, Aiden and Brock

For their birthday we went with the Cars theme. We actually took them to see Cars 2 on Saturday night and they loved it.

Since they are such Cars fanatics, we just went Cars all the way. They got Cars sleeping bags, pajamas, toy cars, color wonder, some clothes, a water table and they each got a Mater trike. They had fun opening all of their presents and were so fun to watch.

For their cake I made a race track shaped in a 3. Then I put three Lighting McQueen cars on the cake, one for each of them. They thought it was so cool. We sang Happy Birthday to each of them individually and they each got to blow 3 candles out. They were so cute.

It was a fun filled day and it is fun to see them at this stage. They are growing up so fast and changing so much that I am enjoying watching them in this stage.

Happy Birthday Aiden, Brock and Collin. We love you.

The Fourth

We had a pretty good Fourth of July. The weather was perfect, so that really helped. The girls and I went to the parade and Matt brought the boys over and met us there after it had started. The boys had been sick and he had taken them to Community Care. The boys lasted a little while at the paraded and then Matt took them home. We spent some time in the afternoon working on our deck and then we went up to my Mom and Dad's for a cookout. We did fireworks with the neighbors that night and just had a fun holiday.

The rest of the week was not so fun. I had three sick boys with about 5 days of temps around 102 degrees and coughing and draining sinuses. The doctor called some bronchial something or other, but I called it pure torture. They didn't want to eat, or drink and they didn't want to take their medicine. All I can say is, I am so glad last week is over and that they are all feeling better again.
