Aiden's Big Day

It is official. Aiden got to come home today. I can hardly believe it. He spent a total of 52 days in the NICU and now he is free. Collin was supposed to come home yesterday, but it didn't happen. On Friday we changed Collin and Aiden over to formula and Aiden did fine with it and Collin didn't. He just didn't eat enough that the Doctor decided not to let him go. We were hoping for both of them today, but only Aiden got to leave. Hopefully tomorrow or Tuesday and we can bring Collin too. Brock isn't too far behind. I am hoping that by next weekend we can have all three of them home in Idaho.

This morning we went to see the boys and finish everything we needed to do so Aiden could leave. He passed all of his exams and got the green light. On Friday all three of them passed their hearing tests, so that was the last of the tests. We gave Aiden a bath and put him into his huge car seat and then he got his first step into the real world. It is still almost like a dream. It is crazy to think that we are actually getting this close to going home. I think it will be nice to gradually work into this. Bringing one baby at a time might not be to bad. It is definately going to get interesting.

They have all done good in the weight gain department the last few days.

Aiden - Thursday 4 lbs. 9 oz., Friday he stayed the same, Saturday he was 4 lbs. 11 1/2 oz.
Brock - Thursday 4 lbs. 2 3/4 oz., Friday 4 lbs. 3 1/2 oz. , Saturday 4 lbs. 3 3/4 oz.
Collin - Thursday 4 lbs. 9 oz., Friday 4 lbs. 10 oz., Saturday 4 lbs. 12 oz.

Here are some fun pictures of Aiden on his big day coming home.

Welcome Home Aiden!!!!

Baby Update

The boys are doing super today. They all graduated to the next bottle feeding stage. Today Brock moved to two bottles a shift and Aiden and Collin moved to PO on demand. That means that they have a bottle when they wake up to eat, which is about every 3 1/2 to 4 hours. They all did pretty good today. They were definately really tired by the last bottle I gave them tonight. Hopefully they will do good on the night shift so we don't have to go back down to where we were before. Other than that, there are no other changes or updates. They are all so dang cute. I can't wait until they are a little bit bigger and their personalities start to really show. I can already see some of it shining through. I am going to cherish these special moments that I have had to just hold each of them individually and just be able to watch them as they start to discover life and all their surroundings. It is definately these moments that I have with the boys that makes me realize how worth it this whole experience has been and continues to be.

Tub Time

Today was the day. Aiden and Collin got their very first bath, and they got it together. Our nurse Jami asked me if I wanted to do their baths together. Of course I did. So we got them ready for the bath and we had to do some photos before hand. We got all three of the boys and laid them in Brocks crib. It was so fun. Then we took some pictures of Collin and Aiden all ready for their bath. The bath was so fun. We wrapped them each in a pillow case and then put them in slowly. Being wrapped like that helped them not feel so open and cold. They actually really enjoyed their bath. Aiden was putting his hand in Collins mouth and Collin was doing the same to Aiden. When they got done the water looked really gross. They are so fresh and clean and they smell like babies. It was fun. Poor Brock got left out. He doesn't get a bath for a couple of more days, so his turn will come.

All three of the boys got their eyes checked again today. All of their eyes are vascularized. That is good. It means that they have good eyes and we shouldn't have to get them checked for another six months. They all did good on their bottles as well. We are getting closer to going PO Ad Lib for Aiden and Collin and Brock should get to move up to 2 bottles a shift hopefully tomorrow or Friday. Last night Aiden weighed 4 lbs. 7 oz. and today he weighed 4 lbs. 9 oz. Brock weighed 4 lbs. 1 oz. last night and 4 lbs 2 oz today. Collin weighed 4 lbs. 9 oz. last night and 4 lbs. 10 oz. today. Keep growing boys.

Here are a bunch of darling pictures from their exciting day.

Day 47

That is how long we have been in the NICU. That seems like a long time, but I really can't believe that is how long it has been. It is amazing how when it is one of the most unforgettable experiences of your life how fast it really flies by. I am just glad we are almost to the end of the NICU.
All of the boys are doing marvelous today. They are all becoming more alert and they are waking up when it is feeding time. They are starting to know. It was fun today when I was holding them, to just watch them and their little eyes wander across the room. They are so incredibly cute and precious.

Aiden took two bottles for me today. He is doing really well with them. Last night he weighed 4 lbs. 7 oz. Before I know it he will be 5 lbs.

Brock took one bottle for me today. He was so cute again today with his little hat on. At one point today he was awake and laying on his side towards the window. He just looked at the light from the window for at least a half and hour. Last night he weighed 4 lbs. 1/2 oz. At least he didn't drop any weight, but I sure wish he would gain a little faster.

Collin gained more weight than Brock. Last night he weighed 4 lbs. 8 oz. He took two bottles for me today. For awhile today he was even on room air. He had to go back on the oxygen, because he needed just a little more help. He is getting closer to not needing it though.

Cribs

Brock finally did it. He got into a crib last night. All three boys are now over 4 lbs. It is a big milestone to hit.

I spent the day at the hospital with the boys. They all did really good today. Aiden is still on room air and doing really good with that. His feeds were increased to 38 mL today. While I was there, he took three whole bottles for me. I think he is finally getting the whole bottle thing. Last night he weighed 4 lbs. 5 3/4 oz. and was 17 1/8" long.

Brock like I said is finally in a crib. When I got there this morning he had a little hat on to help keep him a little warmer. He looked so cute. It is so fun to finally see them in clothes. Although when their diapers leak, it just means I have to not only change the diaper, but the outfit also. His feeds were increased to 35 mL and he took two bottles for me today. Last night he weighed 4 lbs. and was 15 3/4" long.

Collin is still the biggest. He has a really sore bottom. It looks really awful. He poops every time, so it doesn't help in the healing process. That is his only problem. They increased his feeds to 38 mL and he took two bottles for me. Last night he weighed 4 lbs. 6 3/4 oz. and was 16 3/4" long.

Paige and Kayla me and the boys really miss you. We can hardly wait to see you this weekend. Keep being good for Daddy and Grandma. I love you. XOXOXOXOXOXO

Precious Boys

Well I am alone once again in Utah. My dad came down today to see the boys and he was also Matt's ride home. The goodbyes don't get any easier when he leaves. It is really hard having your family being split up week after week. But there is light at the end of the tunnel. Before I know it I will have me and my 3 boys home in Idaho. The only consolation I keep reminding myself about through all of this is what wonderful, cute little boys I got a result of all of our trials over the summer. No matter how hard this has been, I wouldn't change a thing. I think I have changed some as a wife and a mother and learned that you can't always have a set plan for life. Someone else makes the plan and I was chosen to carry this plan out.

The boys are doing so good today. Aiden continues to be on room air and is doing so good. He took both of his bottles today really well. Last night he weighed 4 lbs. 3 1/2 oz. and he just continues to fill out each day.

Brock is doing super today. He took his only bottle he gets for me today when we first got there. Then later he was awake again when it was time for his cares, so the nurse said to go ahead and try the bottle again. He took a second bottle for me. Yeah. I keep telling him he is going to be left behind if he doesn't pick up the pace. Maybe he is starting to take me seriously. Last night he weighed 3 lbs. 14 1/2 oz. He hasn't gained to much the last couple of days. Hopefully he can break 4 lbs. tonight.

Collin is the leader of the pack. Last night he weighed 4 lbs. 6 1/2 oz. He is also supposed to get two bottles a shift like Aiden. On his last cares for the shift he was awake and rooting, so we decided to try him again with another bottle. It was a success. He took it in less than 15 minutes. If he keeps this up, he may beat Aiden home. Those two are going to be close on coming home together. Who knows, maybe it will be this coming weekend. I can hardly imagine how life will be when I get to actually take them home.

Photo Day

Today the boys had really good days. Matt and I went in this morning to spend time with them. Matt played in a golf tournament this afternoon, so after I brought him out for that, I went back in for the rest of the afternoon to be the boys. We had fun with them today. Our wonderful nurse Jami was on today and she took all of the boys and took all of their tubes off and all of the tape and she did darling photo of all of them. She also got new footprints today. It was so fun to finally see the real baby in each of them with all of their stuff off. They are so darling. Here are some really fun pictures that she took today. (Thanks Jami!!!!)

Aiden was on room air most of the day. The only times he had to be on oxygen was when he had his feedings. He took both of his bottles today. His feedings are at 33 mL. Last night he didn't do too well with the bottle. He was pooped out from all the hard work yesterday. So today they went back down to two bottles each shift. He will do that for a couple of days and then try the PO Ad Lib with the bottle. Still if things go well with him and he gets it all figured out, we could still have him home by next weekend. Last night he dropped a little weight. He went down to 4 lbs. 3 oz.

Brock had a good day. He took his whole bottle for me this afternoon, so that was good. His feedings are at 33 mL. He just needs to be worked with a little more and I think he will get it figured out. Today he was really stretching and grunting alot. He does that quite often, so he was a little restless all day. Last night he weighed 3 lbs. 14 1/2 oz.

Collin had a good day today as well. He took both of his bottles pretty good. His feedings are up to 36 mL. He is getting the most out of all of them. He was really sleepy today and didn't cause any problems. Last night he weighed 4 lbs. 5 1/4 oz. He is the biggest once again.

We love you Paige and Kaya. Aiden, Brock and Collin miss you too. We will see you very soon. Thanks Mom and Dad for taking such wonderful care of my two sweet girls.

Back at Last

Today was the day that Matt and I returned to Utah. This morning after sending Paige on her way to school, we took Kayla to Grandmas and hit the road. It was really hard leaving the two girlies behind, but I was very anxious to see our boys. Matt is only staying for the weekend and then he will head home and be Mr. Mom for the week with the girls and I will stay down here and take care of the boys.

When we got to the hospital today it was so nice to walk in the room the boys are in and see two cribs. Aiden and Collin were moved into open cribs yesterday. The boys all looked so much bigger. They changed alot over the week.

Last night Aiden and Collin weighed the same at 4 lbs. 4 oz. and Brock was at 3 lbs. 15 3/4 oz. Hopefully tonight he will break the 4 lbs. mark. It sounds like he will get to move into an open crib tomorrow. Yeah!! Today Aiden's feeding regimen changed. He has moved to what they call PO Ad Lib. Which means over the next two days he gets to eat between every 3 and 4 hours, whenever he is ready, and he only eats from the bottle. If he doesn't eat very well they will still NG it through his tube. If he does well after two days, they will remove the tube and see how he does for two days with the tube out. If he does really well with that, they say we can take him home. That's right. You heard me. He could be home by next weekend. I am so shocked. I really didn't expect this to happen quite this fast. And the best part is, Collin isn't too far behind. Probably 4-5 days behind is all. Brock is a different story. He is struggling with the one bottle. He is just a little more fragile and will take some working with, but he is probably a good 2 or even 3 weeks behind the other two.

When I left home today it was really hard. I just wanted to get all of us together. So I can hardly believe that it will be sooner than expected and we will all be together again. We aren't there yet and anything can change, but we can definately see the light at the end of the tunnel. Here are some cute pictures of the boys for you to see how much they have changed.

First Day of School

Paige is officially in the 1st grade. Her teacher is Mrs. Grover. Those of you who went to Madison know her daughter, Shaundel Grover. Paige is so excited to be going to school all day and she even gets to eat lunch at school. She also gets to walk to and from school with the neighbors. It will be good for her to get back into a rountine.

Kayla and I had the day to clean and run errands. It was weird to just have one child to take in and out of the stores. That time will soon end. The boys are doing really well. They are taking their bottles pretty good. Today Aiden was on room air for awhile. So that is a definate step up. Last night they weighed: Aiden - 3 lbs. 15 1/2 oz., Brock 3 lbs. 12 oz. and Collin 3 lbs. 15 3/4 oz. I bet after tonight Aiden and Collin break the 4 lb. mark. Brock isn't to far behind. I am anxious to see them on Friday. It is bittersweet though, because I leave Paige and Kayla behind, but I get to see my three precious boys.

Splash Park

The girls and I had a fun day today. We ran some errands and got some stuff done for school for Paige. Then this afternoon we went to the carosel and the splash park. They had such a fun time. It was fun to do that with them. They also played outside today and we did some yardwork. Paige said to me that she loves her home and she is so glad to be home. It has to feel good to them to be able to get back into a somewhat normal routine.

The boys are also doing really good today. I have called several times to check up on the boys. I am so glad they are in good hands with the wonderful nurses. Aiden had a good day. He only had one desaturation and he took his whole bottle. Tonight he weighed 3 lbs. 14.7 oz. Brock was being the stinker of the bunch today. He had several desaturations, but the one good thing was that he took his whole bottle. Tonight he weighed 3 lbs. 11 oz. He is really gaining on the other two. Collin had a great day. He had no desats and he took his whole bottle. He has been the stinker the last couple of days, so I am glad he shaped up. Tonight he weighed 3 lbs. 15.1 oz. They are all so close to the 4 lb. mark and getting into open cribs. Maybe by this weekend.

Home Again

I have ventured home for another weekend. I came home last night and will stay until Friday morning. I have a long list of things that I am going to get accomplished this week. I am also going to spend some quality time with my two girls. It should be a fun and busy couple of days.

It was really nice to leave Utah to come home, but also bittersweet. It was really hard to leave my boys in Utah. I do know they are in good hands, so that makes it a little easier, but it is still really hard to leave them down there. They are doing really good. They had a good day yesterday and today. They are just doing the standard drops in their levels, but nothing they can't recover on their own. Their feedings have also gone up. Aiden is at 33mL, Brock at 30 mL and Collin is at 33 mL. Today the nurse said that all three of them ate their whole bottle for her. So that is really good. The last couple of days they have been gaining weight, so that is a really good thing.

Aiden weighed 3 lbs. 13 oz on Friday night and 3 lbs. 14 oz. on Saturday night and 3 lbs. 14 1/2 oz. tonight. Brock is gaining on Aiden and Collin. Friday night he weighed 3 lbs. 4 oz. and Saturday night he weighed 3 lbs. 7 1/2 oz., and tonight he weighed 3 lbs. 9 oz. Collin weighed 3 lbs. 13 oz. on Friday night and 3 lbs. 13 1/2 oz. on Saturday night and 3 lbs. 15 oz. tonight. Yeah boys. Keep gaining that weight.

It was nice today to go to church and see all of our ward members. They changed our ward boundries last week, so we had a lot of new faces in our ward. It will be fun to get to know all of them. It was fun to just spend the afternoon at home with the girls and Matt and then we went to my parents for dinner. It seemed like a normal day and there haven't been to many of those lately. It is just really weird to be doing normal things and then I think about my little guys in Utah. It is hard having my mind and my heart half at home in Idaho and half in Utah with the boys. This will soon be over and I can devote my whole heart 100% to my family once again. It will feel really good to get back to normal, as normal as life will be.

Here is a cute photo of Aiden taking his bottle yesterday. This will be the last picture of the babies for a few days, so I hope you enjoy looking at this cute little guy as much as I do.

She's Finally 3!

Top Row: Brock being held by Matt, the girls looking at and touching Collin
Middle Row: Washing bears at Build a Bear, Blowing out the candles and just being Kayla
Bottom Row: Kayla with her princess presents. Can you tell from everything that she got that she is way in to princesses. What 3 year old isn't?
What a fun day we had yesterday. We went and spent some time with the boys at the hospital. They are doing pretty good. Aiden and Brock had no new changes. They both took their bottles really good yesterday. Brock actually drank his whole bottle for Matt. Good work Matt. Collin had a not so good night on Wednesday. After one of his feedings he was really dropping in his breathing and having a real hard time. They had to bag him and help him along for about 5 minutes. They also found a few specks of blood in his stool. So after that episode they did an xray of him tummy. They discovered that his NG tube (the tube that runs through his nose down to his tummy for feedings) wasn't in his tummy anymore. They couldn't even see it on the xray. The tube had worked its way up into his esophogus. So they put a new tube in and that solved the problem. They don't think he has any infections, so that is good. Also yesterday they all got their eyes checked. The doctor said that they all look really good and have no problems. That is really good to hear. Their weights from Wednesday night are: Aiden - 3 lbs. 12 oz., Brock - 3 lbs. 3 oz. and Collin - 3 lbs. 14 1/3 oz.
After the hospital we took the girls to Build a Bear. What a hit. Kayla of course had to pick the brightest bear of all. Then both girls got to pick an outfit for their bears and they both picked princess dresses and of course both bears ended up with the same name, Cinderella. Then we went down to my brother and sister-in-laws for a little party. We blew up their bounce house, had pizza, cake and ice cream and presents. Kayla had a lot of fun playing with cousins and just had a really fun filled day.

Another Good Day

I am so glad that there isn't much to tell you. The boys are doing so good and there aren't any major changes happening. I kind of like it that way. It means smooth sailing.

Aiden is up to 3 lbs. 10 1/2 oz. His feeds are up to 31 mL today. I was able to do his bottle feed this afternoon and he took 24 mL for me. He did super. They have to take 75% of their feed by bottle for 48 hours before they will move them up to 2 bottles per shift. So that is our goal for each of them right now.

Brock weighs 3 lbs. 3 oz. He is starting to gain again instead of lose weight. I just hope he continues that trend. Today I was also able to feed him his bottle. It was his first and he took 12 mL of his 27 mL total feed. So for his first time he did really well.

Collin weighs 3 lbs. 12 oz. He is getting close to his 4 lb. mark. That means he will probably be our first in an open crib. Once he hits 4 lbs., they will start putting a onesie on him and making sure he can regulate his body temperature on his own out in the open that long. It will be really nice to see him in a crib. Matt was able to do his bottle feeding today. He took 21 mL of his 32 mL feed. It looks like we are going to have a hungry bunch on our hands. They are doing pretty good. As we were leaving tonight Collin was having some reflux. They poor little guy was spitting up and had to have his mouth suctioned out. He was also dropping alot on his oxygen because of the reflux. Hopefully this was just a random moment for him. We will have to see how he does tomorrow.

Tomorrow is Kayla's 3rd birthday. I can't believe she is that old. She is growing up so fast and she is so very cute. Every day she does at least one or two things that we laugh at. She has a fun personality and she sure has spunk. She is such a joy in our home and it is sad to think that she is not my baby girl anymore. She is my big girl and the a big sister. Happy Birthday K. We love you.

Moving Up

My weekend at home was fabulous. I feel refreshed and energized enough that I think I can make it to the end of our time in Utah. I was able to accomplish alot of stuff in the house and get a few things ready before I bring the boys home. None of us wanted to come back to Utah, but we knew we had to so we could see our boys.

Last night after we got back down to Utah, Matt and I went in and spent some time with the boys. They looked so much bigger when we saw them after being gone for 3 days. Brock wasn't puffy from the water retention anymore and Collin almost has a double chin he is getting so big.

Today when we got to the hospital, they had just moved them from room 2 to room 6. The room is huge compared to the room they were in. They are spread out a lot more and there are actually windows outside in this room. It is really nice.

Aiden is still on the canule. He is still getting one bottle every 12 hours. He is doing pretty good with that. It is a new thing for all of these little guys. It takes a lot of work to take the bottle and they get really tired just trying to drink 1 oz. It is going to take a lot of work and time to get them on only bottle feedings. His feeds are up to 30 mL and he is tolerating that really well. Here are his weights for the last few days.
Saturday - 3 lbs. 6 3/4 oz.
Sunday - 3 lbs. 8 1/2 oz.
Monday - 3 lbs. 8 3/4 oz.

Last night I was holding Aiden and Matt was holding Brock. We were able to get them right next to each other and get their picture together for the first time. I can really see the resemblence between the two of them.

Brock is doing so much better than last week. He is not puffy and his feeds are all the way up to 26 mL. He is having a much better week than last week. He lost a little weight over the last few days. We figured he would do that once he lost some of the fluid he had been retaining. Hopefully we will be able to start bottle feeds with him in the next day or two. He just hasn't been quite as ready as the other two.
Saturday - 3 lbs. 2 3/4 oz.
Sunday - 3 lbs. 1 oz.
Monday - 3 lbs.

Collin is doing marvelous as well. His feeds are up to 31 mL. He is doing very good in the bottle feeding. He doesn't get as tired during his bottle feeds as Aiden, so he is getting most of his by bottle. I was able to do his bottle feeding today and Aiden's as well. He is really passing the other two up.
Saturday - 3 lbs. 8 oz.
Sunday - 3 lbs. 10 oz.
Monday - 3 lbs. 10 1/2 oz.

Weekend Home

Well I am actually home this weekend. Can I just tell all of you how good it is to come home after two months. When I turned off the exit in Rexburg I cried. I was so excited. When I walked in my house it all looked so different. It had just been way to long. It was kind of hard leaving Aiden, Brock and Collin but they are in good hands at the hospital. I am hoping that this weekend home will get me rejuvenated.

The boys are doing pretty good. Aiden had to go back on the canule. He just needs a little bit of help and the reminder to keep breathing. Thursday night his weight was 3 lbs. 5 oz. On Friday he got to start bottle feeds. The first time he took 12 mL of his 28 mL feed amount. Then the second bottle he took 20 mL. Yeah!!!! Friday night his weight was 3 lbs. 6 1/2 oz. He is doing super. If he can just keep doing good on the bottles, it makes it that much quicker to get him home.

Brock is doing better today. The last several days he has been really puffy from water retention. Yesterday they did an xray and say that he did have fluid in his lungs, so they gave him a diaretic. It helped and today his xray was so much better. Today he also got his PIC line out. He is all through with the antibiotics and is up to 22 mL on his feeds. He is doing alot better. Thursday he weighed 3 lbs. 2 1/2 oz. and Friday he weighed 3 lbs. 2 3/4 oz.

Collin is also doing really good. Nothing major has changed for him. His feeds went up to 30 mL yesterday which is 1 oz. He also started bottle feeds. His first bottle he took 10 mL of his feed. Then his second bottle he took 10 mL also. Today they took his feeds back down to 29 mL. He is doing pretty good though. Thursday night he weighed 3 lbs. 6 1/2 oz. and Friday night he weighed pretty much the same.

4 weeks

Well tomorrow we hit the 4 week mark. I can't believe it has been that long. Time goes pretty fast when you look at what has happened. It's what you're waiting for that doesn't go as fast. The boys were good today. Aiden and Collin had no changes. The only change with Brock is that his feeds were going up to 14 mL today. He is also a little puffy. He is retaining a little water and is a little red. They think it is from all of the fluids they have been pumping into the little guy. He is just having a hard time getting on top and ahead of everything. Hopefully in the next couple of days he can get balanced out and have no new changes.

Well I am heading home tomorrow afternoon minus my 3 newest additions. Paige, Kayla and I are going home for the weekend. I am so incredibly homesick I can't stand it any longer. I just need to go home and be home for a few days, get a few things done and I think I will be able to make it the next 6-8 weeks, however long it will be until we can go home for good. Also, Matt needs a ride down, because he misses his boys, so we will go pick him up. So we will all come down Monday morning and spend the week with the boys. Then the next weekend Matt and the girls and possibly me again will head back up to get Paige into school. I want to go and send her off on her first day of 1st grade, but I just don't know if that will work or not. We will just have to see.

The girls had a sleepover last night at Angela's house with Kobi and Ava. Tonight they are all sleeping at Grandma and Grandpa's because Angela had her baby today. Congrats Angela, David and family.

Aquarium

This morning I took the girls to the Living Planet Aquarium in Sandy. We went with Grandma Nielson, cousins Kobi, Ava, Josh and Aunt Angela. It was really fun and the girls had a fun time. Then we did lunch, McDonald's of course and then Angela took them to her house for a sleep over tonight. They were so excited for that. The one advantage to being in Utah is that the girls are getting to spend alot more time with their cousins than they normally do. They are going to miss that when we go home.

The girls in front of one of the big fish tanks and petting a star fish.

The boys are doing wonderful today. No problems or changes. Everything is pretty much the same today. Brock's feed increased to 10 mL and that is about all. Their weights from last night are: Aiden 3 lbs. 4 oz., Brock 2 lbs. 16 oz., and Collin was about 3 lbs. 3 oz. If they can just continue on the up and up, we will maybe make it home sooner than we expected.

Aiden waving "hi" to his Daddy. The boys and we miss you. See you soon!

Doing Good

This afternoon when I went to see the boys, I peeked in at all of them in their little isolettes and I thought to myself how good they all look. They are all really starting to fill out. They aren't little birdie babies anymore. I thought they have looked that way for awhile, but today they just look really good.

Aiden has no new changes. He is doing pretty good. After he gets his feeds, he has several drops in his oxygen, but they aren't that bad. He is still in the lead of being our biggest. Matt nicknamed him "Tank." He weighed 3 lbs. 3 3/4 oz. last night.

Brock is looking so much better today after his blood transfussion. I think his color is alot better and he just looks healthier. They checked his levels last night after the transfussion and they were back to normal. His feeds were increased to 7 mL today and they should continue to go up. The seven day round of antibiotics ends tomorrow and then he should be able to get his PIC line out a couple of days after that. Today they started giving him Zantac because they got a little bit of dried blood out of his tummy when they checked his residual. They think it is just from the Anderson tube that he had down his mouth last week. So they are giving him Zantac for a few days to help his tummy. He is starting to gain on Aiden and Collin in weight. He weighed 2 lbs. 14 oz. last night.

Collin is still the same. The only change for the little guy is the amount of his feeds. They increased to 26 mL. Last night he weighed in at 3 lbs. 1 oz. I am counting my blessings for how good they are doing. We are coming up on 4 weeks and things are looking pretty good. At this point we can just hope that we don't have any major setbacks and that they keep steadily progressing. They are the cutest little angels. It is starting to hit me that I really have 5 kids. This week with having the girls here and spending time with them in the morning and the boys in the afternoon, it is starting to really get tiresome. It is hard to juggle my time between all of them. I hope it will be a little easier when we are all living under one roof. Right now our family is spread out under three different roofs and it is hard. We will make it though.

This last weekend I took the girls to the park.

Another Manic Monday

Today was kind of a crazy day. After a morning of dealing with my whining girls, I went in to spend some time with the "3 Muskateers." Here is the daily update.

Aiden had no big changes today. They have increased his feeds to 27 mL. So hopefully he will keep chunking up. He is liking sucking on his binkie, but not as much as Collin. Last night they do the weekly measurements. He weighed 3 lbs. 2 oz. and was 16 1/4" long.

Brock was pretty good today. I guess last night his oxygen kept dropping and then they checked his hematacrit (sorry for the spelling) level and it was really low. (that is his blood level) So last night they did a blood transfusion of 12 mL and another one this afternoon of 12 mL. Hopefully that will help him start to get on top of things. They decreased his feeds to 3 mL, hardly anything, but hopefully it will increase tomorrow. He is just starting to get the hang of the binkie thing. He did pretty good with it today though. His weekly weigh in was good though. He is gaining weight, that is the best part. He weighed 2 lbs. 12 oz. and was 14 1/2" long.

Collin continues to good also. He had no major changes. They increased his feeds to 25 mL. He is gaining on Aiden in the weight category. He weighed in last night at 3 lbs. even and was 15" long. He really likes to suck on his binkie, so hopefully he will do good when they start trying bottle feeds in the next couple of weeks.

This was my favorite picture of the day. Brock with his binkie.
